Where to define the Mic for Screenvideo?

Hey there,

I am working on a Mac (M1 2021).

When I try to record a Screenvideo it only records the picture but not my mic.

Is there a way to define the mic?

    Hi Roland,

    Sorry to hear you're running into this.

    Just to confirm, the screen recording is working correctly, but your microphone audio isn't being captured?

    Could you also let me know:

    Which browser you're using (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.)?

    Whether you've already granted Microphone permission to your browser under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone on your Mac?

      Thank you very much for getting back so quickly on that.

      I use several microphones on my Mac because I'm a voice actor.
      But other apps like Zoom or Zight work fine and they let me choose the microphone I want to use.

      Security settings for the browsers are “on” as you can see in the screenshot.

      Besides that, I think that the icons of the recording dialogue are not very clear to me.
      Which icon means the microphone is active, and which one means the microphone is not active? ;)

      Either way does not work in my case.

        Hi again,

        At the moment, BugSmash doesn't provide an option to manually select a mic during screen recording. The extension automatically uses your system's default microphone. That said, I've already shared this with our product team to see if we can support microphone selection further.

        Coming to the mic icons - the crossed-out icon means the microphone is inactive, while the icon without a cross shows it's enabled. I'll still have a look with the team and see if we can make some improvements here.
