Localhost Tunneling Integration via SERVEO

Description: A Serveo integration would enable developers to share localhost demos directly through BugSmash without deploying to staging servers.

Use Case: As a developer / vibecoder / web designer, it would be beneficial to share my local development environment for review so that I can get feedback faster without uploading/deploying first.

How it works:

  1. Create project → Select "Localhost" option

  2. BugSmash generates secure tunnel (via Serveo.net integration)

  3. Share BugSmash link with reviewers

  4. Reviewers access localhost through BugSmash's interface

  5. Time-limited access (auto-expires after review period)

Benefits:

  • Eliminates deployment bottleneck

  • Faster iteration cycles

  • No staging server costs

  • Perfect for rapid prototyping

  • Unique competitive advantage

Technical: Serveo provides SSH/WireGuard tunneling without proprietary clients. BugSmash would manage tunnel lifecycle and integrate with existing access controls.

Suggested Implementation: Start as opt-in beta feature for Pro users. Clear security warnings. Fallback to traditional upload method.

Target Users: Solo developers, small agencies, teams doing rapid prototyping and internal QA.

💡What about a "Localhost" option integrated directly into the Bugsmash browser extension?

To understand further, right now, generating the public link via Serveo and manually adding that link to BugSmash to generate a public review link would technically result in the same outcome, right?

Or I am understanding it differently?

You're in part correct that the manual workaround produces the same outcome. However, the integrated approach of this feature request delivers genuinely different value:

        Current manual approach:

        • Developer generates Serveo link separately

        • Copies it into BugSmash

        • Creates review link

        • Shares both (or the BugSmash wrapper)

        Proposed integrated approach:

        • Users open BugSmash browser extension on local computer

        • On localhost option feature → hits "generate review link"

        • Extension auto-integrates with Serveo tunnel in the background (see my previous comment)

        • Single shareable BugSmash link (no separate Serveo URL management)

        • Tunnel lifecycle managed by BugSmash (default port, auto-expires, access controls integrated)

The real benefit: Frictionless one-click sharing of localhost demos, using a single extension, with full annotation capabilities. A compelling feature for your target users (solo devs, agencies doing rapid prototyping).

The bigger picture: This is a win-win integration that gives mutual exposure to both Serveo and BugSmash among the developer, vibe-coding, and web design communities. It positions BugSmash as the go-to feedback platform for the entire development lifecycle, from local prototyping through production.

Got it. I have moved the item ahead in-review. Will check with the team on the feasibility and integration 🙌🏼

          Thanks again for suggesting this.
